Ability Connect is a free application that allows real-time communication of various devices via Bluetooth without the need for an internet connection -although it can also be used via Wi-Fi or mobile data- and that has advanced features for reading content to adapt to the needs of various groups of people with disabilities, such as deaf people, with low vision or dyslexia.There are two operating modes: in the sender mode the user can create sessions and enter the text that he wishes to transmit in real time, and in the receiver mode, one or more users can see the list of active sessions and can connect to receive the content. relayed by a transmitter in real time.It has several types of reading the content to facilitate its understanding:- Full reading: You can set the background and text color to improve contrast and select the font size and type to improve readability. - Reading word by word: The content will appear word by word, being able to configure, in addition to the standard display parameters, the speed of their appearance.- Read aloud: A voice synthesis reads the content aloud for us.The application also has an accessible text editor that takes advantage of the adapted reading characteristics and that allows us to archive our documents for later consultation.Among other use cases, this application can be used to:- A volunteer / classmate / note taker who may be taking notes of what happens on the blackboard or what the teacher says and in real time the student will be able to read the content that the other person is introducing.- Language translation: the translator writes in the issuing application and the person can see or read it in real time in their language.- To perform subtitling in events: a person can write what is being said on the sending device and on the receiving device, which can be connected to a screen or other display device, it can also be followed in real time what is being spoken .Ability Connect is an application promoted and developed by the University of Alicante with the support of the Vodafone Spain Foundation.Accessibility statement:https://web.ua.es/es/accesibilidad/declaracion-de-accesibilidad-de-aplicaciones-moviles.html
